The last couple of months I have been suffering from a serious case of MOMMY BRAIN. With a 3 1/2 and a 1 1/2 year old running around as well as another on the way (surprise!) I have days where I seriously think I have lost it! I have been known this past month to forget to reorder on low stock ribbon, or to take a few days longer on those orders that are so precious to you! I just want to apologize for those of you who recently have had to wait longer than normal for your orders. This is not the way I run! I appreciate your business AND your patience during my "mommy brain" episodes :)

New gripper

We've come up with a new "no slip" gripper for all our alligator clips. You will not believe how well these stay put in your little one's hair! I tested it out in my daughters hair and by the end of the day it was still basically in the same place! Great for pulling hair to the side and can still slide easily into hair for pigtails or ponytails.

This stay put gripper will also be used on our new headbands coming shortly, so watch for them! I just know you're going to love them as much as I do :)

I love getting packages in the mail and the last week I have received quite a few! there are so many new cute things for spring ready for sale. Included in the new items are these brand new adorable infant size beanies!

Ok so I don't know about you other Calgarians out there but I am sick and tired of all this cold and snow! I took my kids to the Zoo last Saturday on a good day and felt so good to be out in the sun... but low and behold it was just another one of those tease days that we regularly get in Calgary because that night and all day the next we got snow, and more snow.

I decided for the next week all my blog readers and facebook fans are getting a special "Bring Spring" treat! For every flower you purchase you get one for free, up to as many as you want! Just put in an order though here and leave a note in the comment section of what free flower(s) you want and that's it!

Happy Holidays from Bella Babies!

This year has flown by, I can hardly believe it is Christmas time again! Bella Babies has been busy getting all the Christmas gear up on the website and I can finally say it is done. Check out our Christmas selection here and while you are at it you will notice the new website style. I was getting bored with the old look and decided to do a revamp. I think that it is easier to navigate for shopping and it is just fun to have a fresh new look!

This weekend Bella Babies will be attending the 2nd Mommy Fair at the Auburn Bay Club in SW Calgary, if you live in the area be sure to stop by and check out all the great sales for moms and babies. And be sure to stop by my booth to say hello!

I just ordered these new ribbons in 7/8" and am so excited about them. Blue and Pink paisley. Could they be any cuter? What do you think? I just wanted to give a little sneak a peek to tease you!

I also have this 3/8" ribbon in stock but it is not yet on the website. I can do orders with it in any style! Classic brown and pink that everyone loves!

Also watch out for DEMIN! I have had a few requests for denim so I finally have it in stock. Both 7/8" and 3/8" ribbon. So versatile and you don't have to get her all dressed up for an excuse to wear a bow!

Moving on

Well my "business parter", Estelle, has decided to move on from Bella Babies. Since she is expecting a new baby in the fall and with the move to The US she is having a hard time keeping up and with all that is happening up here. I am sad to have her go, she has been a good partner and will always be a good friend. We had a fun time starting this business together, doing baby fairs and brainstorming new ideas. Good luck Estelle in Utah and with the new baby! You will be missed!

I have decided that for the next baby shower I throw for someone I am definately inviting these guys! Mia Baby is the company that just put on the Mommy Fair that I attended recently. What they do is home parties that showcase cute and trendy baby items that are hard to find! Of course I am even more excited that they asked Bella Babies to showcase some products at their parties! The Mia Baby girls are so fun, a couple young mom's like myself who like to get out there and meet other mom's and share great baby ideas! Thank you to all of you who stopped by my booth at the Mommy Fair last Saturday. I had a lot of fun being there and checking out the other great products there that day! I have never been to the New Brighton club before and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful atmosphere!

We are excited to have signed up a new Hair Salon in Okotoks who we met at the fair on Saturday. Sugar Salon & Aesthetics is a high end Salon owned by Jody Swift who by the way is an amazing woman! She is one of those women who just make you wonder "How does she do it" She has so much going on between business and hobbies but still manages to be a great mom to her two little boys. The salon has a free babysitting service every Monday for those mom's who have a hard time getting away for some time to themselves! You should see some of our hair accessories there shortly!

It's been a busy year so far. If you haven't already checked out the shopping section on our website, take a look at our new additions! We've gotten some new colors of ribbon to go with the new clip we call the "petite bow" because it is so sweet and petite! You'll love all the new spring colors as well as our tried and true ribbon favorites!

In Bella Babies news, we're going to be expanding the website to have a Canadian and US side to it. Estelle will be moving to Utah in the fall after some traveling this summer and will carry on with the US business there. Laura will be staying in Calgary and taking care of all our Canadian customers here! As always any orders in the Calgary area have the pick up option.

Mompreneur Show

Well last weekend was a riot. We mets lots of wonderful people and did a little shopping ourselves! Thank you to all of those people who stopped by our booth!

We wanted to show off a few of our favorites from the other booths that we shared the day with.

My favorite from the day was the lady just across from us, Jeni Muddle she was super nice and had some great stuff. Soft minky blankets, face cloths, pillows etc. And she does custom orders too!

A perfect party had some great ideas for children's birthday parties.

This one is so unique and fun! Custom made chocolate for just about anything. I am definitely keeping this in mind next time I need a great gift idea!

Upcoming events

Well summer is over and fall is here and we are keeping very busy! Long nights are spent tying bows and getting preparations ready for Christmas, but this is what we love to do!

We thought we should let everyone know of some upcoming events we are going to be attending over the next month.

On Saturday, October 27th we will be holding a combined open house with a friend of ours who owns a jewelery business www.ellabelle.blogspot.com it will be a fun and exciting event with door prizes and food. If you are interested in attending please email us for the location details.

We will also be attending the Mompreneur Trade show on November 10th at the Blackfoot Inn in Calgary. We are so excited to be a part of this and there will be many other booths worth checking out so be sure to attend for some great prizes and lots of useful information.

November 16th and 17th - you can catch us at the Varsity craft fair, this is a smaller community Christmas craft fair held at the Varsity community centre 4303 Varsity Drive NW. Sale is from 3:00-8:00pm Friday 16th and 10:00am to 3:30pm Saturday 17th

That same weekend we will also have a booth on Saturday the 17th at the Trans Canada Christmas craft sale. You can come see us between 9am and 5pm at the Montgomery Community Association (located on the corner of 16th Ave NW & Home Rd. NW)

We also have our website up and running with an online checkout so if you are unable to attend our open house and trade shows but are interested in placing an order that is the way to do it! We are so excited to showcase our brand new Christmas bows at our open house this weekend and they will be on the website ready to order by this weekend as well!

Well it has sure been a busy summer! We have been really keeping ourselves busy this summer playing in the sun and spending time with our families. We haven't forgotten about the blog but have been so busy getting our website up and running that that has taken most of our "business" time lately! This month we had a couple of photo shoots and are excited to showcase our cute Bella Babies Models on our new and improved website. Be patient it is coming soon! We had no idea how long it could take to create a website! But we promise it will be well worth the wait!

Some of the things we are excited to share on the new website are the following:

Halloween Bows: We will be showcasing a small selection of cute Halloween bows to show off your little ones in a unique way!

Mini Bows: We have added a new line of "Mini Bows" to our selection. So many people we requesting something a little smaller than what we have and this was our solution. They include the no slip grip just like or alligator clippies so even babies with just a little peach fuzz on top can pull them off!

Cute Clips: A little something more casual than our bows are the "cute clips" we now carry. It is an alligator clip fully lined with 3/8" grosgrain ribbon!

Summer Flowers

It has sure been a busy month, and it shows by our lack of blog posts! We are currently working on revamping our website which is scheduled to be complete by the end of July/beginning of August. At that time it will also be set up with an online checkout where we can accept credit cards and paypal! Thank you for your patience while we work on this! In the meantime we have been handling all our online orders via email at bellababies@gmail.com.

You will also notice on the website (www.bbabies.net) we have been continuously updating our selection of ribbon colors. So check back often to view our online catalogue and see what we offer. For now are only able to accept cash, check and paypal.

Now with summer just around the corner, we are excited to introduce our new line of flower headbands and clippies! We are so excited for you to be able to try them out, that for the next month only, all our flower will be just $5! After July 15th 2007 they will be added to our catalogue at $6 each.

The "Laura" Flower

This white flower is oh so beautiful adorned with a precious rhinestone in the middle for a classy touch! Measures 1 1/2 inches.

This gorgeous flower comes in 5 different colors. Red, blue, ivory, pink and summer blossom. (When ordering the summer blossom flower, please specify which color you would like on top and if ordering with a headband specify the color headband you want (pink, red or cream). The rest of the flowers come with a matching headband/lined clippy.) Measure 2 1/4 inches.

We have also perfected our clippies style (pictures below). you will notice from now on all our alligator clippies will be lined with matching ribbon including a "no slip" foam finish on the top side (it is hidden when wearing) so you don't have to worry about them falling out of thin hair!

The Party

Well last weeks party was a huge success. We had a lot of fun showcasing our brand new line of products. We also learned lot of things about what we need to work on and how to improve our business to help us serve you! There was no particular bow or belt that stood out as a favorite seller, people seemed to buy a variety of everything. Below are a few pictures of the night.
